Advanced DAW Parameter Settings
Each DAW shows extra Chord Chameleon controls in its plug-in parameter, automation, or MIDI mapping lists.
The illustration below demonstrates two steps to locate this in Ableton Live. Exact location varies by DAW.

THE PARAMETER LIST
Unfolded, every Chord Chameleon parameter is available to automation and MIDI mapping.
Forgiveness
Allows more timing variation when detecting chords. Higher settings are more forgiving when chord notes are not quantized or struck with imperfect timing.
Kill Sustain
Blocks sustain pedal MIDI messages. Useful when remixing pre-recorded MIDI clips that contain pesky sustain messages.
Chord Label
Turns the chord-name display On or Off. See Chord Label.

Chord Label
Chord Label identifies the chord you play and displays a compact symbol on the chameleon’s back.

MAIN CHORD NAME
Shows the best match for the chord you played.
FΔ7/G
ALTERNATE CHORD NAME
Appears only when another reasonable interpretation may also fit. Unambiguous chords may show only the main name.
It works with Chord Sync ON or OFF and does not alter MIDI notes or timing.
This beta feature is OFF by default and can be enabled from your DAW’s plug-in parameter list.
ENABLE CHORD LABEL HERE
The label names the chord you played before inversion and voicing controls rearrange its notes.
KEEP IT VISIBLE
After you release the notes, the label remains visible for up to five seconds. Click either chord name to keep it visible. Click again to hide it. Playing a new chord updates the label automatically.

Setup varies by DAW. Look for MIDI Learn, automation, or plug-in parameter mapping.

Quick Troubleshooting Checks
No sound?
Chord Chameleon is a MIDI plugin and needs a MIDI instrument to make sound. Please check DAW routing/monitoring and DAW Quickstart Guide instructions.
Processing chords inconsistently?
Try a higher Forgiveness setting (see Forgiveness).
